| Book Review | This book should be recommended for every Panther before they graduate! Louise Booth was the wife for Don Booth who was a well respected professor here at Chapman, that a chalkboard is dedicated for him on the 2nd floor of Beckman Hall. This book goes through the entire history of Chapman University, when it first known as Hesperian College from Yolo County, to Cal Christian College, to Chapman College and finally Chapman University. It is a really touching history book, as the people really wanted this school to become a university, a dream finally fulfilled in 1991. You will find why we do Baccalaureate, and how Atkins Plaza is somewhat a replica of the Sunken Lawn by Memorial Hall. I don't want to spoil the famous people who visited Chapman to give speeches inside our historic Memorial Hall, you will have to read it yourself. Enjoy this book with the Chapman Spirit! |
