Book ReviewThis work of fiction is in the style of a Socratic dialogue. The characters sit (literally) and explore the state of humanity. The twist (spoiler alert) is the title character and teacher a sentient gorilla. He is trying to save humanity from itself by leading his pupil to see how and why modern civilizations function the way they do and that our base assumptions about our role in the world will ultimately lead to our own destruction, as well as that of the planet and other species. The discussion is thought-provoking, but not gonna lie, slow-going. Nearly nothing happens plot-wise, so don't expect an action-packed summer read.
