Book ReviewThe sixth and final issue of Scott Pilgrim focuses on the lead as he deals with Ramona having peaced out in the previous volume. He encounters his previous ex-girlfriends and finally realizes that he has been shirking the consequences of his past, which has inevitably stunted his ability to fully engage in meaningful relationships. This final volume brings closure (and understanding!) for title character Scott Pilgrim, but also for those who have read the previous five volumes and pondered how it might conclude. The last ex-of-the-week, who had been whispered about since volume one, is not a good person all around, so I relished his demise. I equally welcomed the end of this series.

FINAL THOUGHTS: Now having read volumes one through six of the Scott Pilgrim series, I don’t think it’s a must read, but it’s enjoyable nonetheless and a fairly quick read. The art style is a little too cutesy in some places, borrowing heavily from slice-of-life manga, but for the most part, it contributes to the overall tone of the story. Even though this was originally published in black and white, and while some may disagree (because some of the jokes land better in b&w), I would recommend trying to read the colorized version.
