Book ReviewThe book details the challenges that many sailors faced in the 1600s due to not having a right calculation of longitude on a map. Sailing east or west was the easy part, but a ship steering north or south resulted in many guesses as to their time and location out at sea. The part that kept me enthralled was the competition that was  set upon inventors who wished to solve one of the world's greatest scientific problems of the time. It wasn't until the clockmaker John Harrison invented a specific clock did the world get close  to calculating longitude. The next challenge was testing his clock numerous times.
