Book Review
This is the first in the Series of Unfortunate Events books. It is unusual for a young readers book (at least for me) in that it makes no bones about the fact that the orphan protagonists are not going to have a happy ending. At least not yet. That being said, the narrator has an engaging style that turns a dark tale into a humorous page turner. I didn't expect to like the book as much as I did and look forward to picking up the next one. And a bonus discovery: the audiobooks are read by Tim Curry!
