Book ReviewThis book spans a huge amount of time yet is still so detailed and personal. From the beginning of the slave trade in Ghana all the way to modern day, each chapter switches to a different perspective. Normally I get lost in this type of storytelling, but Gyasi is able to weave different characters together in a way that isn't confusing but also isn't just spelled out for you so you can connect the dots together yourself and use brain power. Overall, I gained a lot of different perspectives from this novel, particularly what occurred in Ghana during and after colonization. This has encouraged me to read even more novels that are less centered around America.
