Book Review | This is a very recent biography on Winston Churchill. The author wrote the book mainly because he was given exclusive access to many of Churchill's never-before-seen letters and other government documentation. Moreover, the author - despite being a UK resident - remained relatively objective throughout the book. The book balances between academic and "popular" language, so it moves readers along fairly well (can get dry in some areas - hard not to with a 982-page book). Recommended to those interested in early to mid-20th century history. |
