However, this is a case of not judging a book by its cover - or title. What I assumed would be a collection of work about women being "difficult" and overcoming various situations was really a collection about difficult things happening to women and them almost always accepting their fate. While that is realistic and true for some individuals, it quickly gets depressing and predictable across the stories.
