Book Review | A very compelling romance between two young adults who weave in and out of each other's lives. Sally Rooney has a serious talent for writing engaging stories about people I can imagine existing in real life. I cared deeply about the main characters Marianne and Connell. I also appreciated how Rooney incorporates themes of power, control, and class into this book. The only issues I had were that some of the characters' decisions (namely Connell's) did not make sense to me and more depth could have been given to certain aspects of the story such as Marianne's background. Otherwise, I thought this book was good and worth reading. I hope to read more books by Rooney. |
