Book Review | If you are a book worm and are interested in the history of the book in Western culture, I highly recommend this read. It generally starts with the innovation of the Gutenberg press (not invention; presses were invented prior to this printer's creation) and ends with the Digital Revolution at the end of the 20th century. I learned how type (metal font) was set on a press and the complexities of how paper was laid, sewn, folded, and bound. Lot more complicated than it looks or sounds. Enjoyed the read, but if you can't handle reading history books, stay away. ;) |
