Rating Highly Recommended
Book Review John Hersey's Hiroshima is a critical piece of journalism - quite possibly the most important piece written in the 20th century. I appreciated that Hersey interviewed victims of the bombing of Hiroshima from many backgrounds and humanized them. The stories are very easy to read and provide a great basis for what happened from the moment the bomb dropped to the weeks/months/years after the bombing. Even if you are not interested in war literature, this book is an important read to remind us of what the U.S. did during WWII and the repercussions of nuclear warfare.
