Book Review | In this book, painter Wassily Kandinsky explains his views on the spiritual elements of art. Covering his thoughts on color, form, and the duties of both artists and viewers of art, Kandinsky makes the case art ultimately acts as an expression and enrichment of the spiritual side of human life. His discussions are quite interesting even though I am not an artist and I feel his writings can be appreciated by all readers interested in art and/or spirituality. In addition to the primary text, this copy includes some wonderful works of art from various artists including Kandinsky and a section of transcribed comments from visitors of the Museum of Non-Objective Painting. |
