Book ReviewA novel set in an L&D hospital ward and in a courtroom dealing with race, bigotry and white supremacy, and hidden bias. A well-researched study (read author's note) and discussion from real life experiences re told to author about a white patient demanding her child not be touched by anyone that did not look like her. In real life the L&D nurses sued on discrimination and won. In the novel, the baby died which led to an accusation of murder. Loving and hating are taught. It matters greatly who is teaching.
