Book Review | I was intrigued to read about the life of Hedy Lamarr and her escape from Nazi Austria in the late 30s. Well known for her celebrity on stage and on Hollywood screens, but less known for her invention of sonar which helped to communicate with submarines from fighter jets; a huge advancement in warfare. Although she received a patent by the US Gov. her invention was ignored until early 40s when the Airforce stole it, renamed it and used it when the US got into WWII. This historic novel was a small intro to her exciting life. |
