Book ReviewIf you are in the mood for  a"southern noir" crime thriller, you will enjoy King of Ashes! The audiobook is gripping. The narrator is an excellent actor and brings out so much nuance. I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much if I were just reading it. Our main character, Roman, is estranged from his family and hasn't been back for 5 years. He learns his father is in a coma, so he goes back to find that his little brother is mixed up with local thugs and owes a LOT of money to the wrong people. If you like crime, family drama, and violence, you'll enjoy King of Ashes.
