Book Review | This was required reading for an organizational leadership class, so I only somewhat recommend this title. William Bridges's Transitions posits that a person who is the recipient of change experiences an ending before entering a state of confusion and/or chaos, before finally experiencing a new beginning. This model is somewhat similar to Kubler-Ross's five-stages of grief, and to Duck's Five-Stage Change Curve, in that Bridges's model assesses people's emotional responses to change. This is a fairly quick read, and informative in many ways, particularly in how people perceive change as they enter and exit different stages in their lives. |
