John le Carre

TitleJohn le Carre
AuthorLynnDianne Beene
Call NumberPR6062.E33 Z64 1992
Location2nd Floor Humanities
RatingRecommended
Book ReviewBeene's research into David John Moore Cornwell's (leCarre's pseudo name) unconventional childhood, his issues with abandonment, and his formative  years working for the British Foreign Office provided many facets to leCarre's imperfect  protagonists living in believable, (The Cold War) super spy, government agent thriller story lines. A prolific writer, he worked and wrote until his first international  success, The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, allowing him to write full time. It was fun to read  how so many of his characters were developed from real people he knew and worked with.
