| Book Review | This graphic novel follows a mechanic and her crew as they travel to the center of the Earth in their lowrider car in search of their beloved cat who disappeared after an earthquake. Along the way, they encounter many figures/experiences from the Mexican and Aztec cultures, such as Aztec gods, La Llorona, and a Day of the Dead celebration. I loved all the cultural references (there are a lot). I only wish that the illustrations were more vibrant, but with such a rich story, I hardly noticed. |
