The Marriage Plot

Book ReviewThe Marriage Plot is a novel that revolves around three characters--Madeleine, Mitchell, and Leonard. It begins with each of them as graduating seniors, and chronicles their first year as post-grads. This novel covers much of the angst that graduating seniors and post-grads feel about love, their potential career, and life direction. The story line is also used to wrestle with bigger questions such as marriage, religion, and psychology. Jeffrey Eugenides is a wonderful author, and he does an amazing job "method writing" in this novel.
