This
book is an insightful look at the history of the science and scientists that
led to the creation of LIGO and the 2015 discovery of gravitational waves.
While the engineers and concepts tackled by the LIGO team may be beyond the
reach of some, the book brings humanity to the forefront. Part history, part
conversation, and part lyricism, Levin’s book chronicles the many heroes and
hiccups that ultimately led to the confirmation of Einstein’s theory of
gravitational waves.
