The
Lowland is a complex story of two brothers coming of age in 1960s India, and
the radically different paths their lives will take. While an interesting
read and an impressive scope of narrative, I found it difficult to connect
with the characters on an emotional level. While I understand the motivations
behind the characters, it was hard to feel any true compassion for them.
Others may find this book more enjoyable than I did.
