Book Review
Mary Katherine Blackwood lives in a secluded house with her older sister and sick uncle. The nearby towns people have ostracized the small family due to a mysterious event that took place within the household several years prior. Shirley Jackson does a good job of sustaining the creepy tone throughout the story by using a narrator that you aren't quite sure you can trust.
