We follow two characters, Maevyth and Zevander, through their journeys and how their worlds collide - Maevyth, an outcast who lives on the outskirts of the village, near a haunting woods, and Zevander, a king's assistant trying to rid him and his brother of their curses. The plot and world-building started strong, dropped off halfway through, and then the author almost remembered at the end of bringing back the plot. Though parts of the plot are very predictable, I'm curious to see where she is going with the story.
