Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

TitleWho's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

Book ReviewI knew just from reading the character list on the first page that I was not the target audience for this play, and I was right. I guessed the "surprise twist" at the end from Act 1 and wasn't really in suspense throughout. I understand what Albee is trying to get at (the psychological delusions we use that both hold us together and tear us apart) - but I think there are definitely better ways to get that message to the audience without the rampant abuse and racism. A timestamp from a different era in contemporary play writing.
