Book ReviewThe introduction contains fascinating descriptions of how meals were handled during Jane Austen's days. It also includes several "food scenes" from her novels. The recipes are adapted from a woman who lived with Austen's family for several years; it is likely that Jane cooked or ate these very dishes. Although I only found one dish that I would actually eat, I recommend this cookbook purely for the history.
